Nature photography from a woman in the woods

Fall Patterns Begin . . .

Fall is early this year. The vegetation is browning and dying quickly because we have had no measurable rain in ages. It has cooled off drastically this week, with night temperatures about 40º. It does not look like the trees will go out in a blaze of glory this year, but there are some Fall patterns to find out in the woods.

  1. We are seeing the same sort of thing here this year too. I’ve seen some with frost damage already and reds and a few yellows are starting to appear. I sure hope we will still have the fall colors!

  2. Same here, Bearyweather. I think for us it’s partially due to the drought conditions we had throughout the summer. But it’s also cooling off at night now, and the predictions are that today will be our warmest day for a while.
