Nature photography from a woman in the woods

Photo Challenge: Foreign

The seasons and weather can easily take ordinary objects and make them appear “foreign”. Do you recognize this common plant? The Fall season and today’s snow have changed it drastically.

(What is it? … it is a cattail)

    • Yes, “cool” … we had 2 inches of snow on Sunday .. no one was prepared to see the white stuff, yet. With the snow I also received a lake full of white trumpeter swans … pictures to come soon. (snow melted yesterday)

  2. Cattail! It’s a cattail! Very lovely. I so often forget about this blog of yours. Glad to see you’re still in the blogging world…and that you’re introducing students to this, too!

    • Yep, I am still here. I have several post started that I have not had time to finish and the student blogs are really keeping me busy. Hoping I can get control of my free time a little better to keep up with my own blogs soon. Thanks for checking on me …

  3. Oh yes, I recognize it. Ours look the same way after a good snow. đŸ™‚

    • It was a very early snow and only lasted about a day … but, helped me find something that was foreign looking … at least foreign to its more common state. It is pouring rain and ice this morning … I wonder if it is now a soggy, drooping mess? Hmmmm…. wonder if it is too icy to try and hike down there?

    • Thanks …. did not mean to fool you … I love that I spotted it’s strangeness for the challenge. Hope you had a nice week.
